Frontier developments chose to drop their Odyssey gameplay trailer during this year’s Steam Game Awards to a massive audience. Up 75% in 2019 to 45 million, we can assume that the covid/lockdown driven numbers were even higher this year.
Interestingly the Odyssey all-in-game-footage clip played to an audience comprised mostly of viewers that may not have ever heard of Elite Dangerous. This tells us FDev are confident of their latest offering and are looking to grow their player base...substantially.
